The 1st Annual J.A. King (and Queen) of the Watershed is here. It's the first race of its kind in the Triad. Everyone from juniors to experts are welcome at this event.
This race will consist of 5 stages using the following trails:
Stage 1: Blue Heron & Reedy Fork
Stage 2: Wild Turkey
Stage 3: Country Park
Stage 4: Owls Roost & Shady Side
Stage 5: Big Loop & Little Loop
The race loops will be timed and the sections leading to each trail will not be timed. Don't want to race all the segments? No problem. When you're done then head on back to John's house for food and fun.
Each racer will receive a meal ticket with their entry fee. Additional meal tickets can be purchased online or at the event. There will be food, beer and bands at John's house after the race.
The event will begin at the Blue Heron Trailhead parking lot off Yanceyville Rd. Shuttles will take riders and their bikes to the trailhead from Bur-Mil Park. There will be prizes for each segment as well as prizes for overall results. This event will be used as a fund-raiser for the Greensboro Fat Tire Society. Come on out and have a great time.
FESTIVITIES: Ghassan's will be catering the event, Pig Pounder Brewery will bring the beer and Emily Stewart with Reverend Cleveland and the Graduates will provide your musical experience after the race is over at John King's house. Your entry fee gives you one meal ticket. Additional meal tickets can be purchased during sign-up or at John's house on race day.
PARKING: The main parking will be at the little church parking lot near the entrance to Bur-Mil. The address is 4094 Battleground Ave. You can ride the sidewalk down to John's House on Owls Roost Road. There will be limited parking available at John's house and inside Bur-mil Park because of the Fall festival.
